We have developed biosensors with higher sensitives using the electrochemical and electromechanical techniques. We have incorporated our nanostructures in these biosensors to achieve higher sensitivities.

Electrochemical Glucose Biosensors

Electrochemical biosensor is one of the simple analytical tools to detect glucose content in the human body. These biosensors should have high sensitivity. We have development a high performing electrochemical glucose sensors using the nanostructures. The developed glucose sensors showed an increase in sensitivity of about 24 times than the conventionally available sensors. We are currently involved in the enhancing the performance of other biosensors using nanostructures.

SAW Devices for biosensing

We have been working on developing highly selective and high sensitivity biosensors based on surface acoustic wave devices. Nanopillar array structures are placed on these devices for high higher surface area and therefore higher sensitivity. Complex network analysis techniques for frequency and phase shift measurements are applied to differentiate between specific and non-specific binding sites.
